- Dr Maud El-Hachem. Doctor of Philosophy. 2018-2021. Mathematical models of biological invasion. Maud recieved the 2021 AustMS WIMSIG Maryam Mirzakhani Award. After graduation Maud took up a position as a research fellow in Biological Mathematics at CSIRO.
- Dr Jesse Sharp. Doctor of Philosophy. 2018-2021. Numerical methods for optimal control and parameter estimation in the life sciences. After graduation Jesse commenced working as a postdoctoral research fellow jointly with the Australian Institute of Marine Science and QUT.

- Dr Alexander (Alex) Browning. Doctor of Philosophy. 2018-2021. Model complexity in biology and bioengineering. Alex won an outstanding thesis award, meaning that his thesis was ranked in the top 5% of QUT PhD theses in 2022. After graduation Alex continued working at QUT as a postdoctoral research fellow.
- Dr Anudeep Surendran. Doctor of Philosophy. 2017-2020. Stochastic and continuum descriptions of population dynamics with spatial structure. After graduation Anudeep took up a position as a research fellow at the University of Montreal.
- Dr Sean Vittadello. Doctor of Philosophy. 2016-2020. Mathematical models for cell migration and proliferation informed by visualisation of the cell cycle. After graduation Sean took up a position as a research fellow at the University of Melbourne.
- Dr David Warne. Doctor of Philosophy. 2015-2019. Computational inference in mathematical biology: methodological developments and applications. David won an outstanding thesis award, meaning that his thesis was ranked in the top 5% of QUT PhD theses in 2020. After graduation David took up a position as a research fellow at QUT.
- Dr Oleksii (Alex) Matsiaka. Doctor of Philosophy. 2015-2019. New mathematical models for cell biology assays incorporating realistic cell size dynamics. After graduation Alex took up a position as a research fellow at the University of Queensland.
- Dr Parvathi Haridas. Doctor of Philosophy. 2014-2017. In vitro characterisation of melanoma progression in a melanoma skin equivalent model. After graduation Parvathi took up a position as a research scientist at Envoi Pathology.
- Dr Wang Jin. Doctor of Philosophy. 2014-2017. Investigating the reproducibility of in vitro cell biology assays using mathematical models. Jin won an outstanding thesis award, meaning that his thesis was ranked in the top 5% of QUT PhD theses in 2017. After graduation Jin took up a position as a research fellow at QUT.
- Dr Stuart Johnston. Doctor of Philosophy. 2013-2017. Mathematical models for quantifying collective cell behaviour. After graduation Stuart took up a position as a research fellow at the University of Melbourne where he was supported by an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Award. In 2026 ANZIAM awarded Stuart the JH Michell medal for outstanding new researchers in applied mathematics.
- Dr Adam Ellery. Doctor of Philosophy. 2013-2016. Modelling transport through biological environments that contain obstacles. After graduation Adam took up a position as a computational scientist at the University of Queensland.
- Dr Katrina Treloar. Doctor of Philosophy. 2012-2015. Mathematical models for collective cell spreading. After graduation Katrina took up a position at Suncorp bank.

- Mr Joshua Rottenberry. Master of Philosophy. 2026-present. Mathematial modelling, parameter inference and model-based prediction of 3D tissue growth with controllable gradients.
- Mr Daniel VandenHeuvel. Master of Philosophy. 2022-2023. New mathematical and statistical methods for tissue engineering. After graduation Daniel commenced a PhD at Imperial College London.
- Mr Luke Filippini. Master of Philosophy. 2022-2023. Surrogate models for diffusive transport in radially-symmetric media. After graduation Luke commenced a PhD at QUT.
- Mr Jonah Klowss. Master of Philosophy. 2020-2021. A stochastic mathematical model of 4D tumour spheroids with real-time fluorescent cell cycle labelling. After graduation Jonah commenced a PhD at the University of St Andrews.
- Mr Michael Carr. Master of Philosophy. 2020-2021. Estimating parameters of a stochastic cell invasion model with fluorescent cell cycle labelling using Approximate Bayesian Computation. After graduation Michael took up a position as a data analyst with RACQ.
- Ms Tamara Tambyah. Master of Philosophy. 2019-2020. A novel free boundary mathematical model of epithelial tissues with mechanobiological coupling. After graduation Tamara took up a position with the Department of Defence Science and Technology and commenced a PhD at Monash University.
- Ms Solene Hegarty-Cramer. Master of Philosophy. 2019-2020. Spatial control and cell guidance in evolving biological tissues. After graduation Solene took up a position at Boeing.
- Mr Sean McInerney. Master of Philosophy. 2017-2018. Parameterising continuum models of heat transfer in heterogeneous living skin using experimental data. After graduation Sean enrolled in a Master of Education degree to pursue a teaching career.
